What is the truth?

Only for the serious individual...

My 119min video got 1m+ views. But…2 min read

If there should be one other metric in YouTube Studio,

It should be THIS 👇

The time it took from Idea to Upload.

Let me show you why…

Here’s my actual data of 2 videos 👇

Video 1

Video 2

Which one would you rather make?

Video 2 is the obvious answer if you care about views.

Video 1 took me & my editor around 13 hours from A-Z.

Video 2 took me 2 hours from A-Z.

This includes the thumbnail…

Can you imagine creating a 1m+ viewed video in 2 hours?

I couldn’t before I did…

I’ve been conditioned to believe “hard work pays off”.

That spending more time on a video equals more views.

I even made a visual about it 👇

It shows that spending 10x more time on a video could give you:

NOT 10x more views,

BUT 100x more views.

Why? Because MrBeast said so…

But I care about the truth.

And I also don’t have production budgets like Jimmy, yet 😉

The truth?

There are formats where you do not HAVE to spend more time/money in order to get 1m+ views.

There are workflows that allow you to spend 2 hours and get 1m views.

So, when I got 1m+ views after only 2 hours of work,

I got obsessed with my workflow.

I don’t care about getting 10m views.

I care about getting 1m views in LESS time.

I much rather upload daily with 30 chances per month to get 1m+ views.

Then to upload weekly with 4 chances per month to get 1m+ views.

I’m sure when you just read that…

Your mind may made you believe, that the weekly upload would be of HIGHER quality.

Don’t listen to your mind.

It’s not true.

At least not for me.

My 2h workflow still includes “high retention editing” 👇

Just not in the time it takes expensive editors.

And without the costs…

I mean, I’m not interested in paying €400 for a 4 min video (with high retention editing).

At a €2 RPM it would mean you’d need 200,000 views to break even.

I’m glad my workflow took me 2 hours.

Not because of the savings in editing costs.
Not because of the savings in my own time.
But because VOLUME negates luck.
And daily uploads give one 30 chances a month,
And make YouTube LESS of a lottery 😂

The lesson:

The more constraints I have, the better my ideas get.
When I limited myself to just 2 hours, I thought the quality would suffer.
But the opposite happened…

My ideas got sharper.
My storytelling got tighter.
My edits became more intentional.

No time to overthink. No time to add filler.
Just the core value delivered, FAST.

Constraints breed creativity.

May you use them, my friend.
