What is the truth?

Only for the serious individual...

1 year later and my video exploded πŸ‘€1 min read

1 year later…

My video blew up πŸ‘€

What do you think happened here?

Almost exactly 1 year ago, something happened that YT will NEVER acknowledge about their algorithm…

This video died.

It had Β±140k views a year ago.

Not bad.

But WHY did YouTube’s algorithm push it out of nowhere?

That was my question when seeing this graph for the first time.

Mind you…

I changed NOTHING about this video.

Everything was still the same since week 1 after upload.

So…

Why?

Why did YouTube revive my dead video? πŸ‘‡

I uploaded a video about a similar topic to the video in the image a few days before it blew up again…

If you do not understand that sentence…

Let me explain.

This video is not an exception.

I’ve experienced many times that YouTube,

Stops pushing a video, because I uploaded a video with a “too different” topic on the same channel.

Or the other way around,

Like for the above video.

Where I was uploading different topics during the “dead” period (see image).

And where I uploaded the same topic to the dead video right before the 2nd takeoff.

To make this sound less complicated.

I learned 2 lessons from this 2nd takeoff.

I’ll tell you one πŸ‘‡

If you’ve gotten an outlier video.

For example:

1k views instead of 100 views (average per video)

10k views instead of 1k views (average per video)

And if you care about that outlier TOPIC.

Then make more videos around that particular video.

Not just to get more outlier videos.

But so that YouTube’s algorithm may revive your catalog of older videos, like they revived mine and gave it another 160k views.

If you want to know more about the video, I upload that caused the “revive”,

Plus the 2nd, arguably MORE important lesson,

πŸ’¬ Please reply “REVIVE” to the email once you sign up here & I’ll send you the details.

Be CAREFUL with what you upload…

Especially when a video is taking off.

Channels often don’t die because they don’t upload.

Most often they die, because they did upload the wrong video.

Let me say that again.

Not uploading won’t kill your channel, but uploading the wrong video can.
