6 things I wish I knew (before I started in 2012)
1) You HAVE TO be different
Success is 20% content.
80% finding out how to be different.
Different enough for people to think “Interesting” or “this seems new”.
Everyone copies the top 1%.
The older I get, the more the money seems in copying the top 10% differently.
2) Creativity beats consistency. Consistency beats everything else.
3) If AI makes everyone’s videos look similar…Your personality becomes the content. Build it. A/B test it. Amplify yourself. Find your unique EDGE.
Are you nerdy? Buy extreme nerd clothes. Wear weird glasses. Get nerd hair.
Are you muscular? Record without shirt. Oil spray arms before recording.
Introvert? Look like one. Talk like one. While recording in most public spaces.

4) Your analytics know you better than you know yourself.
Analytics don’t lie. Creators do. To themselves, mostly.
5) The algorithm rewards whatever keeps people on the platform longest, not what’s best for them.
6) You’re competing with Netflix, TikTok, and sleep. Good luck.
This is the truth ✊
